Seldom do i have the chance now to read
and have coffee for companion in the morning.
But as i do, i come to realise some sad fact of life.

It can be quite appalling how a technology derived
device, like the mobile phone,
can have such a significant impact on us and our daily lives.
For many of us, it constitutes to our daily essential needs,
or otherwise feel handicapped without it.

So often, subconsciously, we have developed
the habit of checking our phones every now and then.
And for some of us, our fingers so cannot leave the keypad
for long, that it chocks up such amazingly high phone bills.
I pity the parents as victims of our indulgence.

It was much upon my mind to doubt, on a personal view,
whether the phone has evolved to do us
more good than harm.
It would be such a challenge to ditch this toy.

For now, i shall go back to my coffee and book.
